Pot PourriPot-Pourri are based in Melbourne, Australia.
Pot-Pourri is Tania de Jong AM, Rebecca Bode, Jon Bode, Jonathan Morton and Rebecca Chambers.
Pot-Pourri's live shows are interactive and uplifting a true celebration combining Opera, Broadway, Comedy, Cabaret, Didgeridoo, Dance, Acrobatics and Magic. They are very accustomed to standing ovations and numerous encores!
Phantom of the Opera | Les Miserables | Westside Story | La Traviata | Turandot | Carmen | Lakme | The Pearl Fisher.
The diversity in the performance and the music and comedy crosses all boundaries of background, nationality and culture, and really helps to put the audience in a positive, celebratory and uplifted mood.
They are clever and will create a show that is memorable, funny and moving.
Tania de Jong AM - Soprano
Tania de Jong AM is the inspiration, co-founder and artistic director of Pot-Pourri. A graduate of the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Law with Honours and the Victorian College of the Arts, Tania is considered one of Australia's most talented sopranos.
She has performed with the Victoria State Opera and as a soloist with a number of orchestras. In 2006 Tania received the Ernst and Young Australian Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her work in founding The Song Room.
Tania's other awards include the "Outstanding Individual Contribution to Australian Culture" Churchill Fellowship and the Accessibility Award in The Melbourne Awards. She was a finalist in the Telstra Business Women's Awards and has recently been inducted into the AGSE Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame.
Tania is on the Board of Child Abuse Prevention and Research Australia.
She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in June 2008 for service to the arts as a performer and entrepreneur and through the establishment and development of music and arts enrichment programs for schools and communities.
She has recently founded Creativity Australia to bring wellbeing into the workforce and communities through creative thinking and leadership programs.
Jonathan Morton - Baritone
A man of hidden talents, Jonathan not only sings exquisitely, but also has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, is an IT whiz and plays the didgeridoo.
Jonathon completed the Opera Studio course at VCA. He played the part of Metronome in Zoggy the Time Traveller for the VSO's Schools Company and won the Warrnambool Aria. He performed with the VSO from 1988 understudying the role of El Dancairo in the VSO's Carmen and played a role in VSO's My Fair Lady.
He played the role of Ben in The Telephone for the Melbourne Opera Company, Castlemaine State Festival and Port Fairy Festival. For MTA he played the Prince in Rapunzel-The Musical! and the Count in Figaro! Figaro! Figaro!
Rebecca Bode - Soprano
She travelled overseas and performed and toured in Europe, America and Asia with Columbia Artists Management, London City Opera, European Chamber Opera, and Opera in Concert Productions Worldwide.
Her operatic roles include Mimi, Loretta, Musetta, Norina, Despina, Adele, Valencienne, Yum Yum, Josephine and Mabel. Bec is the proud mother of two little divas.
Jon Bode - Tenor
Whilst living overseas he toured with European Chamber Opera, London City Opera, Columbia Artists Management and Opera in Concert Productions Worldwide. Since returning to Australia Jon has continued to work in theatre, regularly appears as a guest soloist with Melbourne Opera Company and is a soloist with Opera Australia.
Rebecca Chambers - Pianist
In recognition of her achievement in music she was named as the 1996 Young Australian of the Year. In 1996 Rebecca graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in New York and made her Lincoln Centre debut with New York Symphony.
Rebecca is a dynamic and versatile performer and will create a musical menu for any occasion. She is capable of playing classical, jazz, light opera, Broadway, pop, film and virtuosic featured solos from Tchaikovsky and Chopin to Gershwin.
