Jetty Road

Striking twin sisters, Lee and Paula Bowman are fast becoming renowned for their rich soulful harmonies.  Perfectly complemented by the outstanding talents of multi-instrumentalists Julian Sammut and Simon Ross, Jetty Road is truly an awesome musical outfit.

Living in Melbourne, though originally raised in country Victoria, Jetty Road's music is a tapestry of pop and country, with a hint of folk.  Imagine The Corrs and Faith Hill with a unique Australian edge.  With such an appealing mix the Australian Country Music scene quickly embraced Jetty Road. Deborah Minter (Capital News) declaring Jetty Road "as good as anything that has come out of the US."  The rapid rise of Australian music sensation Jetty Road has been truly remarkable.

Debuting in 2005, Jetty Road made an immediate impact within the music industry. Ray Hadley (2GB Sydney) predicts that their "meteoric rise" is set to continue.

Swept up in the whirlwind following the release of their debut single 'Run To You', Jetty Road's fresh talent has been embraced by audiences nation wide.  Appreciated for their melodic music and pertinent lyrics, Jetty Road oozed enthusiasm, passion and confidence.

Word spread quickly about their dynamic live performances with audiences flocking to see their shows at Music Festivals both nationally and internationally.  Sought out by James Blundell for tour support during 2006, Jetty Road has performed on the billing alongside other artists such as Jimmy Barnes and Shannon Noll.

Following the release of their debut album Full Circle, Jetty Road received extensive Australian radio airplay.  Singles 'Run To You' and 'Heart and Soul' quickly rose in to the Australian Top 20 Country Charts.  Due to overwhelming demand, video clips of the songs were also released.  The band also featured live on Channel 7's Sunrise, and Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.

Adding to this momentum, Jetty Road's music featured in a radio showcase in Canada in 2006.  In the same year, "Run To You" successfully secured #1 position on a compilation album released by ABC Records.  'Heart and Soul' also appeared on a compilation album through Shock Records in 2006.

In recognition of their exceptional performance and song-writing ability, Jetty Road was thrilled to receive their second consecutive TIARA award nomination at the highly acclaimed Tamworth Country Music Festival for Best Country Group for 2007. The band also received further nominations for Best New Talent and Best Country Group at the Victorian & National Country Music Awards.

Dirt Roads ~ City Lights is their second album.  Released in early 2007, Jetty Road has produced an exceptional album.  Drawing on a range of musical influences, the band retains a seamless quality that depicts the essence of Jetty Road.

Embark on the amazing journey of Jetty Road.

Jetty Road Media Release
31 August 2009

Having travelled over 25,000 kilometres to get there, the international tour has continued for Australian country music band, Jetty Road, with a performance on the main stage at the Merritt Mountain Country Music Festival alongside Kenny Chesney, Steve Miller Band, Emerson Drive, Doc Walker and Johnny Reid.

Jetty Road was honoured during their Merritt Mountain Festival performance by being inducted into the Merritt Walk of Stars.

Some of country music’s biggest stars have been honoured with a position on the Merritt Walk of Stars, including Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Brad Paisley, the Dixie Chicks, Toby Keith and only one other Australian country music artist - Keith Urban.

Jetty Road made their impact on the Canadian country music scene with an imprint of their hands in the sidewalk and an accompanying mural of the band to be painted and completed in the coming weeks.

Arguably, at Canada’s #1 Country Music Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, Jetty Road, who had impressed the festival organisers with their performance on a secondary stage a day prior, were asked to perform on main stage, opening for country music icon, Glen Campbell.

Only days before the announcement that country music’s most successful duo, Brooks and Dunn, was breaking up, Australian band, Jetty Road performed alongside the country superstars at We Fest in Minnesota, USA.

The 3 day outdoor festival, which drew a crowd of over 70,000, also featured Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith and Trace Adkins.

Jetty Road have received 3 finalist nominations for the 2009 Southern Stars - the 13th Australian Independent Country Music Awards. Jetty Road scored berths in Album of the Year for Life At A Million Miles, Single and Group/Duo of the year.

Having wowed crowds across Europe, Canada and now America on their Life At A Million Miles Tour, Jetty Road returned to Australia where their current single, Million Miles, not only spent 5 weeks atop the Country Tracks Top 30 chart, but the video clip also climbed to #1 position on the Country Music Channel Top 30.

Jetty Road head back for a 12 date tour of France, Switzerland, and Germany in September 2009.
