Dallas Steele
Dallas Steele was born in Atherton and was brought up around music. His father played in bands for as long he can remember, so you could say country music is in his blood.
Dallas Steele is a true cowboy; he is what most country musicians want to be. He has spent his life in the saddle and swag as a professional stockman and horse trainer. He won regional titles for Bull Riding and he is a gifted horseman, and his songs reflect the toughness of that lifestyle.
Dallas has the sound of the traditional country classics and the outlaw boys like Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson and Waylon Jennings, but can also rock out contemporary country like any of the new breed. He is truly an exciting talent!
Dallas did not pick a guitar up until he was 16 years old but since then he has never looked back. Dallas recorded and self released his debut album, "Places I've Been", in 2006 and it managed to find its way into over 500 CD collections around Australia. Not bad, considering it never was officially released. The "Brown Dogs Song" quickly found itself on radio all around the country, and had been unofficially adopted as the Anthem for the truck drivers of Australia. He also released a single and video clip "Won't go Back Again" which shot up the CMC charts to number 33 in 2008.
Dallas' debut full length album "A Drifter's Photographs" is arguably the most anticipated release of 2010. The wait is now over.
"My songs are written from true experiences, feelings or emotions. I find it very hard to sing a song if I can't feel it. My songs, to me, are my photo album. They are the snapshots of a drifter's existence. I am not here just to play silly buggers. I am here to play country music. Real country music as I see it in my life. I hope you can come along for the ride." - Dallas Steele
"Dallas comes from North Queensland and writes his own material. Country is his kinda music and with that true country voice he just belts out that rhythm. Real Country Songs from a Real Country Boy." - Terry, Sonic Imprint Studios
