LUCY DE VILLE & THE BENTLEYS
MONDAY 7 FEBRUARY 2005
New Music Sessions continues the Hard Rock Cafe’s ongoing commitment to original live music. Every Monday night the Hard Rock Cafe Melbourne transforms into an even more relaxed environment with rugs, couches and lava lamps, as local emerging artists are given an opportunity to play acoustically to a live audience.
Lucy De Ville are Shaun and Chel. The pair has been writing, singing and performing for years. Both have been involved with successful cover bands and have recorded and released several original CDs separately. After several years of living as next door neighbours and nodding to each other in passing, Shaun provided an emergency guitar transplant one night for Chel’s band. After successfully collaborating on some jingles, the pair started working on their own music to see where it would lead them. Hence evolved Lucy De Ville. See them live and acoustic at the Hard Rock from 7:30pm this week.
At 8:30pm catch The Bentleys live. The Bentleys have been leaving a lasting impression with their passionate and emotional live performances, and none more so than the launch of their EP ‘Sunday Driver’ to a packed house at The Esplanade Hotel in late 2003. Drawing on a wealth of influences past and present, The Bentleys seamlessly blend acoustic and electric elements, from melodic pop to more aggressive, dark terrain, to create their emotive and dynamic sound.
Come along for a chilled evening of live music and enjoy some of what our local talent has to offer.
The Hard Rock Cafe is currently accepting musical submissions. Artists should send a package including demo and biography to: 1 Bourke Street, Melbourne 3000.
