One of the 20th century’s most passionate and tumultuous artistic relationships between Pablo Picasso and Dora Maar is the subject of a fascinating exhibition exclusive to the National Gallery of Victoria.
Picasso: Love & War 1935 – 1945 has been organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux and the Musée Picasso in Paris in collaboration with Art Exhibitions Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Curated by leading Picasso specialist Anne Baldassari, Director of the Musée Picasso, Picasso Love & War features over 350 works from public and private collections.

Come to the National Gallery of Victoria for art after dark and explore Picasso: Love & War 1935 – 1945.
Every Wednesday from 2 August until 4 October, the NGV will be open from 5pm to 9pm for art after dark.
During these late night openings, the Gallery will be buzzing with an array of FREE and exciting performances including live jazz, Latin and French music, Flamenco dancing, and poetry readings.
People can also polish up on their Picasso knowledge with introductory talks, and enjoy delicious food and wine*.

After the fantastic night launching their single “Let’s Party” at The Espy in front of a big, appreciative crowd, The Vagrants were invited back to perform their last show before heading off to tour the US, Canada and Europe. After a month of hibernation Milk (the band) will be defrosting themselves and taking to the stage at the Folk Victoria’s monthly night on Friday 4th August at the new venue Clifton Hill Hotel’s Emerald Lounge Queen’s St Clifton Hill.
