Meredith 2007 happens on December 14, 15 and 16th.
Meredith’s long-running reputation as one of the finest festivals in the world is set to be enhanced yet again this year. This will be the festival’s seventeenth year; it started in 1991 when the festival landscape was a lot barer than it is now. Having to essentially create itself without a blueprint to work from meant the festival became a pioneering, innovative event. That ethos still holds true today.

Internationally acclaimed Canadian duo Madviolet are singer-songwriter Brenley MacEachern and Cape Breton “fiddlechick” Lisa MacIsaac.
Madviolet have developed an artistic affinity with Australia and their latest album Caravan, released in late 2006, was penned mostly in Byron Bay. Produced by John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor / U2), Caravan features a veritable who’s who of the music world including Claire Kenny (Indigo Girls), Simon Alpin (Teenage Fanclub) and Fiachna Braonain (Hothouse Flowers / Michelle Shocked).
