Our New Year’s Eve party at Eurotrash is also around the corner. It seems that the Brazil theme (or rather Rio) is in fashion this year with another three venues offering a Rio themed NYE party. However, the only fair dinkum 100% BRAZILIAN is ours.
We will have a non-stereotypical, non-fruity hats, definitely non-Latin, down to earth, relaxed, passionate, 100% BRAZUCA, genuine NYE Brazilian party. MelSamba_SHOW will be playing amazing Rio street carnival rhythms which will make you dance ’til you drop. This are the REAL (or should I say RIO) thing.. not Latin music as we don’t play Latin music (the only Latin connection to our beloved Brazil is the base of our language.. as far as music goes we are as distant from the so called Latin music - salsa, cumbia, merengue, etc.. - as Aussie music is from Gamelan music from Indonesia).

With her US trio for the first time in Australia
Kaki King, the pint sized, feisty, funny, smart-as-a-whip & gob-smackingly talented musician, returns for her 5th trip to Australia in a little over 2 years, this time bringing her trio, comprising Dan Brantigan on analog evi (a kind of midi trumpet) & vocals with Matt Hankle on Drums.
Continuing her hectic work schedule of the past few years, it’s been back-to-back touring across Europe and the USA, selling out shows around the world since her last visit to Australia. King has also found time to continue her collaborative efforts, this time with Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle on the EP “Black Pear Tree”, also participating in a recent co-headline American tour.
