We are feeling nostalgic writing our last newsletter for 2009; what an amazing year we have had! Thank you all for making this year our busiest, best and most fun. Just announced: metal-gods FEAR FACTORY (USA) who are heading to Oz as part of the Big Day Out 2010. With a revamped line-up including guitarist Dino Cazares, singer Burton C. Bell, bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan, the boys hit the comeback trail last winter with the album Mechanize – their first release in five years. Rock Band from Stoke, England, Chosen for New Movie
A relatively unknown rock band from Staffordshire, England, has been chosen to produce the music for a forthcoming movie entitled, The Stone.
The band, No Redemption, is the home of musicians, James Earnshaw and Gemma Simpson who recently wrote and performed the music for the Robin Hood documentary set for release in April 2010 by Reality Films and Warner Bros. in the States (Robin Hood: The Truth Behind Hollywood’s Most Filmed Legend). The writer and director of the documentary, Philip Gardiner, was so taken with the music that he asked them to write the music for a movie he is directing and appointed James Earnshaw as musical director.

Chotto Matte embodies diverse theatrical influences in a ritual of live musical improvisation. Loosely tapping into generic rock formulae, Chotto Matte generates a strange, perceptual landscape, littered with memory. From dense, brooding atmospheres dance figures of violent mysticism. Chotto Matte is not a band. Chotto Matte is an intense, theatrical phenomenon. For this very special event, Chotto Matte teams up with local drummer and composer, Sam Price and dirty noise rock duo, The Lands. Kicking off the night, The Lands are a Melbourne based collision of drums, distorted guitar and voice. Strange and haunting, The Lands play pop songs that ooze with a droning sensibility. Sam Price combines generative audio software with improvised percussion to weave intricate and unpredictable audio strata. Sam will play a solo display of his ongoing experimentation with improvised sound, and a second set as stand in drummer for Chotto Matte.
