MELBOURNE FRINGE FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES PROGRAM BELOW
MONDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER
SCREEN SECT:
THE HUNGER (Tony Scott 1983)
Tony Scott’s debut feature film is a typically slice slice of urban vampire chic. The phenomenally attractive cast includes Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon. The director’s obsession with surfaces and style (often at the expense of narrative clarity) somehow perfectly mirrors the characters’ obsessive fear of mortality and loss of beauty. Very sapphic and seductive.

When I received the new album Ghosts of The Horizon, from Perth natives The Holy Sea, I first assumed it was a debut. I was so blown away by what I heard that I couldn’t believe I’d never heard of them before… But hideaway no more! The Holy Sea have delivered one of the best Australian albums of the year… 9/10

BIGSOUND was a great opportunity to have my mind bent by some of the Antipodes up and coming musos and ear bent by some of the most experienced industry people.” Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes/The Break)
