2013 Variety of Chefs Ball

All-Star Chef Lineup announced for 2013 Variety of Chefs Ball
Richardson, Cancino, Pugh, Machin, Horiguchi, Williamson, Clark, Kelly and Amos to don aprons for the kids of Variety.
Some of the most exciting names on Australia’s culinary landscape have been announced as the All-Star Chef Lineup for Brisbane’s premiere food event of the year - The 2013 Variety of Chefs Ball to be held on Saturday 15 June at the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom.

Melbourne’s Adrian Richardson will join with Urbane’s Alejandro Cancino, and other headline chefs David Pugh, Kym Machin, Hajime Horiguchi, Ben Williamson, Jeremy Clark, Tony Kelly and Damon Amos – all who have donated their time and considerable culinary talent to raise money for children in need, and deliver an event in Brisbane which is now a must-attend.
In its fourth year, the Variety of Chefs Ball has boasted some of the industry’s biggest names in food, with the 2013 line-up no exception. The event welcomes for the first time, Executive Chef at Brisbane’s award-winning URBANE Restaurant and The Euro – Alejandro Cancino, recently also named Best New Talent at the prestigious 2013 Australian Gourmet Traveller Awards. Joining him also as a Variety of Chefs first timer is the talented Damon Amos of Public Bar and Restaurant.

Returning for a second year is Adrian Richardson of Channel Ten’s Good Chef Bad Chef and Executive Chef at the famed La Luna Bistro Melbourne; Hajime Horiguchi from Noosa’s Wasabi Restaurant & Bar; Tony Kelly from the popular Stokehouse; Ben Williamson of Gerard’s Bistro and Jeremy Clark from ever impressive, Hilton Hotel. Event veterans, donning their aprons for the fourth year include David Pugh chef-owner of famed Restaurant Two, and one of Queensland’s leading chef names Kym Machin, now consulting chef at Libertine.

Variety - the Children’s Charity is dedicated to empowering Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs to LIVE, LAUGH and LEARN. Each month in Queensland alone, Variety receives over $300,000 worth of appeal requests for children in need. Through grants to children who are sick, disadvantaged and who have special needs, Variety – the Children’s Charity fills a vital gap between what families, schools and communities are able to afford and what our special kids need to lead engaged and fulfilling lives.
