Since it’s release in September “Black Coffee” has notched up a six week unbroken run in the official ARIA Charts, including a #1 debut on the ARIA Hitseekers Chart (across all genres).
“The band and I have been thrilled with the response to the album so far”, says Lachlan “but we’re really itching to play it live. These songs were recorded live, they were written to be played live, doing it live is what this album, and this kind of music, is all about”.
Lachlan released his debut long player “Ballad Of A Young Married Man” in 2009 and since that time he and The Wildes have built a reputation and fanbase as frontrunners of the alt-country movement. Both the debut and 2012’s “Shadow of the Gun” received unanimous praise from the critics, gaining four and five star reviews across the board.
Since then Bryan has perfected his live show, touring extensively with the band, as well as with fellow 2014 Golden Guitar nominees Aleyce Simmonds (Best Female Artist) and Luke O’Shea (2 nominations). He has supported international heavyweights including Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Shawn Colvin and Paul Thornand appeared on the main stages of festivals from the Gympie Muster to the star-studded Bluesfest.
“I’d be on the road every day of the year” says Lachlan, “bringing this kind of music to the people face to face is the only way to do it – it’s my life’s work”.
Early praise for the album includes a review from Country HQ that calls “Black Coffee” “an exceptional album”, describing Bryan’s song writing as “clearly on a par with the likes of Paul Kelly, Nick Cave, Guy Clark and Tom Rush”. JB HiFi’s Stack Magazine is similarly effusive, calling Lachlan “a truly gifted talent” before praising the “stellar musicianship” and awarding the album 4 stars.
Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes are streaming the album for FREE to the general public for a limited time.
