ABBEY ROAD LIVE TO RECORD PIXIES IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Filed under: rockabilly music, punk music, rock music, Tours — site admin @ 3:17 pm

Limited Edition CD set to be available immediately after shows
Abbey Road Live, the leader and innovator in quality live recording and immediate
distribution, have announced that it would be recording The Pixies on their entire New
Zealand and Australian Doolittle Live tour, offering high quality CD sets to fans
immediately after each show.

Online pre-sales of the limited edition, numbered units began this week via
www.doolittlelive.com
Disc sets will be available at the concerts and fans may also opt to have the CDs shipped
home, regardless of whether they attended the show or not.

In addition, Abbey Road Live announced the immediate availability of a free Pixies mobile
app, both for the iPhone and Blackberry platforms, developed exclusively for Abbey Road
Live. The apps can be found in the Apple iTunes App Store, and Blackberry’s App World,
respectively. The apps give the ability for Pixies fans to share pictures, purchase live
content and much more.

Abbey Road Live is an independent operating unit of EMI Music and had its global launch
at the Billboard Touring Conference this past November in New York.

Zach Bair, head of Abbey Road Live in the Americas, said “This is the first time that we
have recorded and toured with the Pixies in Australia. We expect these products will sell
out very quickly. We are once again excited to be working with the band.”

Bair’s former company DiscLive set the stage with the Pixies in 2004, selling out all
16,000 live discs offered on the band’s groundbreaking warm!up tour in just three weeks
time ! a first for the industry. And more recently, Abbey Road Live recorded the band for
their US leg of the Doolittle Live tour.

Each double disc set will sell for US$25, and will be packaged in high quality DigiPaks.
Each set will indicate the city and date where the show took place, and will be individually
numbered to commemorate the limited edition nature of the product. Fans not able to
attend the show, or those who simply want the CD shipped home can select this option
online.

The Pixies commence their New Zealand and Australian tour with a sold-out warm!up
show at The Powerstation in Auckland on March 11. The tour continues at Auckland’s
Vector Arena the following night and then onto Australia for shows in Sydney, Melbourne,
Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
