Andrea Marr - ‘Little Sister Got Soul’ CD launch

Filed under: CD Launches, Gigs — site admin @ 3:43 pm

Andrea Marr will be launching her brand new album ‘Little Sister Got Soul’ on Thursday 23rd
October from 8pm - 10.30 pm at Manchester Lane, 26 Manchester Lane, Melbourne.

‘Little Sister Got Soul’ showcases a new confidence in songwriting and arranging as well
Andrea’s trademark sultry, sassy and soulful vocals . Seven of the ten songs on this album were
penned by Andrea and show her deep love of soul music as well as her lifelong love of blues
greats such as Etta James and Freddie King.

This album has a depth of attitude with songs like Superwoman, Don’t Touch What You Can’t Afford, and What’s Wrong With You? This album absolutely drips soul and also teases and tantalises with a couple of sexy romps - Steam Up
The Windows and Baby Got Me Crazy .

Andrea says,“This album is the music I was born to do and it’s really who I am musically at this
time. I’m enormously proud of these songs and this big soul sound!”

In 2005 Andrea was voted Blue Performer of The Year by the Melbourne Blues Appreciation
Society and represented Australia in Memphis, Tennessee in the International Blues Challenge,
cementing her reputation as one of the finest voices in Australia and making many new fans in
both Australia and the US. ‘Watch Me Work It’ the title track of her 2006 album was included on
the “National Women In Blues’ CD, which is launched yearly to introduce the newest blues
women in the US to their audience and Andrea was the only overseas artist included on the CD.

‘Little Sister Got Soul’ is sure to find her a whole new audience and is out through Amphead
Music. The album will be in stores in November.

See Andrea perform it live on Thursday 23rd October from 8pm - 10.30 pm at Manchester
Lane, 26 Manchester Lane, Melbourne with special guest performances from Mike Beale
(QLD), Paul Williamson and his fabulous horn section, Cam Scott on Hammond organ &
keys, plus performances from Rudy Tadros, Jeke Terei, Edith Borradale & Carmel
Sundaram from the Urban Praise Gospel Choir.

Plus of course the Andrea Marr Band with
Greg Dodd on Guitar, Dean Matters on Drums, Clint Healy on Bass & Sean Vagg on Sax.

Tickets purchased prior to the event will entitle you to buy the CD on the night for $10.00!
