The Aves – Wed 11th @ Jamies Espresso Carpark
Ride Into The Sun – Thur 12th @ The Press Club, 9.10pm

The Audreys are songwriting duo Taasha Coates and Tristan Goodall. Formed in Adelaide in 2004, they are now one of Australia’s highest profile roots bands. They have released three records, one in 2006 called “Between Last Night and Us”, another in 2008 called “When the Flood Comes”, and “Sometimes the Stars” in late 2010. All three records have won that year’s ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album, so they can’t be half bad. They like vintage clothes, anything on vinyl, drinking, touring and each other.

Slow-burning psychedelic shoegaze-rock, painting a soundscape that takes you on a trip from droning guitar, to blissful noise all at once. There’s a cohesive cinematic feel here that pulls everything together. This is a band rich in character: in both the sounds they weave and in the authentic stage presence they project.
Being the #1 most played band on ThreeD for 2011, supporting national touring bands including Tumbleweed, Front End Loader, Wolf&Cub, Young Revelry and more, being picked for the 2012 Adelaide Big Day Out, getting national radioplay - the band have big plans and changes in store for 2013. For now, all you need to do is listen to the music.

“Catchy indie track that could easily find itself implanted in your head for the next hour or so…” Tone Deaf
