SCREEN SECT: BARFLY(Barbet Schroeder, 1987)
Charles Bukowski scripted this semi-autobiographical story of a drunken writer (Mickey Rourke in one of his last great roles before his recent renaissance) who finds love (with fellow lush Fay Dunaway), and is given a shot at literary fame. Atmospheric, amusing and surprisingly upbeat.

DRUNK DIAL
JP SHILO
AZARAK
Drunk Dial is a new project for Ian Wadley (Mick Turner, ex-Bird Blobs etc) & Justin Fuller (ZOND, Mum Smokes etc).Taking a step away from busy schedules with ZOND and Mick Turner’s band, these two long time acquainted musicians point themselves into their newest creation.
J.P. Shilo, ex-Hungry Ghosts who found themselves invited to NYC by Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley to sign to his Smells Like Records label. A solo album on the s…ame label dumbfounded reviewers with its originality of sound and structure. Recently JP Shilo made significant contributions to the final Rowland S Howard Lp, The Triffids reformation tour of Europe and The Blackeyed Susans support tour of Leonard Cohen etc etc. JPs solo set draws on varied styles pulled together by a unfied tone of presentation.
Eko Eko Azarak is a one woman pagan ritualist chanteuse - conjuring distant spirits through primal rhythms, a must see!
