South Coast Folk Club Concert - this Thursday, 13th March - Port Noarlunga RSL, Esplanade, Port Noarlunga.
Bob Fox is one of England’s finest folk singers (and a superb guitarist as
well) - his unique style and interpretation of both traditional and contemporary songs captivates audiences wherever he performs.
It’s been 3 years since Bob Fox graced the stage at South Coast Folk Club.
One of the most successful folk performers on the UK circuit, Bob sings songs from the UK’s north-east, Scotland and Ireland. Last here in 2005, Bob is making a welcome return to South Coast this month between appearances at Port Fairy and the National Folk Festivals. Bob has certainly been making his mark on the UK circuit in recent years with double nominations in the BBC Folk Awards in 2 consecutive years. Following his nomination in 2003 as Best Folk Singer and Best Traditional song (with The Hush) Bob gained nominations in 2004 as Best Folk Singer plus Best Original song for his version of Chris Leslie’s “My Love is in America” recorded on Bob’s “Borrowed Moments” CD.
. “One of the truly great voices from the North East with musicianship second to none” - Vin Garbutt.
… “At last, the record we’ve been waiting for from Bob, “The Blast” is the sound we hear in live performance, that astonishing guitar technique coupled with one of England’s finest voices.” - Ralph McTell
Bob will be supported by one of Adelaide’s finest female singers - from the Hills Folk Club - Jackie Smith.
