Brisbane: Matt Sutton takes over the workday airwaves at B105
Brisbane’s B105 has welcomed Matt Sutton as Afternoon Announcer (12-4pm) and Operations Manager affective immediately.
No stranger to the Queensland lifestyle, Matt carved his name out on the Sunshine Coast airwaves following a year of self imposed ‘world wide travels’. His solo adventure lead him to being caught up in
a military coup, hiking active volcanoes and losing all his possessions in Helsinki, among other exciting and slightly daunting scenarios!
The highlight, however, after returning from travels is being able to continue his passion for radio, and landing the afternoons announcer role with leading Brisbane FM station B105. Matt has previously worked in Hobart, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
His clever and witty on air presentation style has earned him several ACRA (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) nominations, including one for Best Music Personality. He has held court over the microphone with some pretty nig names including Nickelback, 50 Cent, David Guetta and loads of great Australian talent. However his personal highlight remains “talking to everyday people and just having fun on air, it’s not a serious business”.
In addition to loving being a part of the radio industry, Matt has written several travel articles, been an ‘Australian’ voiceover for Canadian TV and is an MC. He’s also a qualified private pilot, an avid Rugby League supporter and advocate for worldwide traveling. When Matt’s not working, you’ll find him at home in Red Hill or out enjoying Brisbane with his wife. “It really is the best city in Australia and it’s always been my goal to live here”.
Wake up with B105’s Labby, Camilla & Stav stirring things up weekdays from 6am-9am. Then get a lift home with the number one pod-casting show in the country Hamish & Andy.
