THE SONGS OF VAN MORRISON AS PERFORMED BY JOE CREIGHTON
Joe Creighton grew up in Belfast during the late 60s with a backdrop of the civil rights movement, riots, religious and social unrest, all to the soundtrack of early Van Morrison songs with the band Them. These were very exciting times and he can still remember walking down Royal Avenue or Ann St (Belfast’s equivalent to Carnaby St, London) and hearing the anthemnic chorus of ‘Gloria’ booming out of boutiques and coffee shops. As a teen he would go and watch Them perform at local venues and that early influence cemented his love for this style of music that is now reflected in his own song writing and singing style.

Record Store Day was founded in 2007 as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding hundreds of independently owned record stores around the world, and we’ve been taking part ever since.

The release of his brand new album Trouble’s Door is the solidification of two years of change for Ash Grunwald personally and a reflection as well of the shifts in the world around us. Since 2010’s award-winning album, Hot Mama Vibes, Ash Grunwald life has been sizzling. After years of surfing the arctic waters of Victoria, Ash bundled up his two main ladies – his beautiful wife and cheeky daughter – and headed north to the warmer shores of NSW. His track ‘Walking’ played a starring role in the Hollywood movie Limitless, new friendships were formed with Kram from Spiderbait and Vika and Linda Bull and a new home with a new home studio were built, from which was birthed his brand new album Trouble’s Door.

Damen Samuel is a singer/songwriter and a traveling troubadour who spreads his mellow, powerful tunes with an acoustic guitar and a husky, velvety voice. His music style can be described as Soul Acoustic, a unique blend of Soul, Folk and Jazz influences. Damen Samuel’s background is German/Nigerian and in 2004 he started performing his songs around New York City where he quickly became part of the local music scene of Brooklyn and the lower Eastside. Since then he has been performing and touring at festivals/music-expos and venues around the U.S., Europe and Australia.
This Open Mic occurs on the 3rd. Friday of each month with a variety of artists who perform an excellent quality of music. Feel free to come and listen to some excellent ‘free music’ or if you wish to perform contact Vanessa on 0408994393.

New EP REAL LIVE & National Tour
2011 was action-packed for singer-songwriter and extraordinarily talented guitarist Daniel Champagne. With the release of his debut album Pint of Mystery, accompanied with 100’s of shows both here and internationally, he was kept on the road for most of the year.
The cracking pace has continued in 2012, with Daniel having already appeared at some of our major festivals, including Blues Fest and the Port Fairy & Woodford Folk Festivals, and accepting invitations to support Lucinda Williams at Sydney’s State Theatre and to open for US Folk Music legend Judy Collins on her recent Australian tour.
