2011 Melbourne Cabaret Festival’s new chair

The 2011 Melbourne Cabaret Festival welcomes its new Chair-elect, Ron Dobell.

Ron has extensive experience in risk management and corporate governance, has served as a Director and Chair of several organisations, and together with his wife Margaret is well known in the arts community for his passionate support of the sector.

He served on the Melbourne Cabaret Festival’s inaugural Advisory Panel from 2009.

Melbourne Cabaret Festival announces dates for 2011 - Submissions now open

The 2011 Melbourne Cabaret Festival will take place Tuesday 19 to Sunday 24 July, again centred in the historic Emerald Hill Arts and Cultural Precinct, South Melbourne.

This follows the successful inaugural festival in July this year, and the re-commitment of all sponsors.
“Melbourne has long yearned for a dedicated cabaret festival, it being the missing jewel in its „arts capital of Australia‟ crown,” said David Read, Artistic Director. “With the generous help of our cultural partners, financial supporters and keen-as-mustard audiences, we‟re aiming to correct that.”
