Headlining the nominated short films is acclaimed International filmmaker, Royston Tan whose debut feature was so brutally decimated by the Singapore censors that he fought back with a gleeful anti-censorship protest short musical entitled CUT, which is currently banned in Singapore. The chorus line of the film is a Who’s Who of the city-state’s last remaining freethinkers. Winner of the prestigious Canal+ Award at the 2005 Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, Fitzroy Shorts is proud to screen it as one of the nominated short films in this, the third year running of THE FITZ Best Short Film Awards in the heart of Fitzroy.
