The Victorian Roller Derby League has had an amazing year over 2011, besides hosting the first two internationally sanctioned games in Australia (Against two of America’s finest teams, Rat City and Texas Roller Girls) as well as being Australia’s number one roller derby league, is now the first WFTDA (Woman’s Flat Track Derby Association) accredited league in Australia.
In conjunction with The East Brunswick Club, The VRDL will be hosting a event on the Australia Day Eve, to assist in funding the VRDL All Stars Travel Team who will be heading to Tucson, Arizona in April 2012 to take part in the invite only Dust Devil Tournament, where they will face off against 12 other WFTDA leagues from around the world!

Pakistan Flood Victims Benefit: more than 21 million people effected!
The Pakistan Flood is estimated to effect about the same population of Australia with half of these people having no shelter. The sheer scale of this disaster is unfathomable and the aid effort is only 40% funded. Aid is likely to be needed for years to come and the risk of deadly diseases spreading, such as Cholera, now a reality.
And you thought you might be having a shit day.
