The Make It Up Club is committed to nurturing, presenting and promoting avant-garde improvised music and sound performance of the highest conceptual and performative standards, regardless of idiom, genre, or instrumentation.
This week, amazing young sound artist and improviser Que Nguyen makes her MIUC solo debut, presenting recent explorations in voice manipulations mediated by extended vocal technique and electronic processing. Reprising their duo from the Overground event at this year’s Melbourne International Jazz Festival in May, Australian punk icon Kim Salmon and legendary experimental guitarist Dave Brown, weave delicately grainy tapes and pedals with their familiar mastery of fractured and brittle guitar distortion. And young postskronk/noisejazz trio, Tucceri/Febbraio/Ellis
abstracting the jazz rock-tradition through grinding density.
