Fresh from his third album release ‘Ninja Tuna’ and mix for Southport Weekender with Jazzanova, Mr Scruff returns to Melbourne for a highly anticipated night of soul music as only the Scruffy one can bring!
Known for his legendary long sets which seamlessly mix Dub/Reggae/Dancehall with Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Beats n Bobs and all manner of black music, Mr Scruff is the Djs Dj. His productions have become favourites of the Ninja Tune stable and are always good food for Djs, be it his first for the label ‘Get A Move On’, or ‘Shrimp’ and ‘Sweetsmoke’ from his ‘Trouser Jazz’ LP. Let’s not forget wikkid wobblers like ‘Chicken In A Box’ for Cup Of Tea or his remix for early Nightmares on Wax joints.
Tickets to YOU AM I on Monday 3rd November (Cup Eve) have now sold out however there are still tickets remaining to their show on Sunday 2nd (if you’re quick!). They’re $35 + booking fee and can be purchased from our usual outlets or click here.
We also have extremely limited tickets available to FLEET FOXES, playing at the Prince on Friday January 2nd. The boys will be joining us for one night only as part of their world tour to promote their debut self titled album.
On stage this week we have the one of the greatest Soul singers of our time, ROY AYERS. With a musical career spanning over 40 years, this heavy weight of soul music is best known for hits such as ‘Everybody Loves the Sunshine’ and ‘Daylight’. Supported by NOSTALGIA 77and THE BAMBOOS featuring KYLIE AUDIST, Roy will be joining us this Thursday 23rd October. Tickets are still available for $44.50 + booking fee. Doors open 8:30pm.
