PREMA NATYA Damien Leith Thornbury Theatre

Thornbury Theatre Gigs

Friday November 29
The Bollydazzlers are putting on a one and a half hour show of dancing and acting, taking you with them in their fantastic journey! This is as close as you will get to have a full on Bollywood movie happen live in front of your eyes, here in Melbourne! The story is a typical Bollywood romance with a modern and Western twist to it which will allow the audience to have a glimpse of many more cultures, as the show promotes a world of acceptance, friendship and love. You will be mesmerised by the many costumes and props as well as the technical sound and light effects which will place the audience at the heart of the action.
The storyline:
When Juan gets separated from his love Asha, he embarks on a journey around the world to find her, braving all the dangers. His passion for Bollywood dancing will help him overcome numerous obstacles and make him meet very interesting personalities along the way.

Into the Mystic - Joe Creighton & The Belfast Horns

Filed under: cabaret, Irish music, acoustic music, contemporary music, Gigs, blues music, General — site admin @ 4:43 pm

Stones of the Yarra Valley Proudly Present
Into the Mystic - The Music of Van Morrison
featuring Joe Creighton & The Belfast Horns

Date: Friday, August 2, 2013
Time: Doors open 6.30pm
Cost: $100 per head (three-course dinner & performance – excludes beverages)
Location: 14 St Huberts Rd Coldstream

Legendary Australian singer and bassist Joe Creighton grew up in Belfast during the late 1960s under the backdrop of the civil rights movement, riots, religious and social unrest - remarkable times played out to the soundtrack of Van Morrison and a band simply known as Them.
From the boutiques and coffee shops of Belfast’s Royal Avenue, the anthemnic chorus of G.L.O.R.I.A boomed, cementing a style of music that Joe has carried with him through a career that has seen him play with John Farnham, Kylie Minogue and Olivia Newton John.

Into the Mystic sees Joe Creighton effortlessly recreate the feeling of those heady early days and release the essence of the music that was so integral. He will take the audience on a journey that begins in the 1960s and moves through the decades encompassing Van’s worldwide hits with a sprinkling of some of the more mystical poetic songs from the Astral Weeks album.

“Joe Creighton gives one of the best readings of a Van Morrison song that I have heard”
- Brian Wise, Triple R
