Following on from the success of her latest album ‘Pour Me Out’, Kristy Apps is launching her single of the same name. On release ‘Pour Me Out’ the album was named Album Of The Week by Rave Magazine, and charted consistently in the 4ZzZ top 20 highest played through the months following – including most played during the week of August 8.
Reviews of ‘Pour Me Out’ have been emphatically positive:
“A truly amazing reworking of salt n pepa’s Push It… sung as if Bruce Springsteen wrote it for Patti Smith, it is something to experience.” On this impressive effort Apps’ has found a way to bridge the more intimate and bolder sides of her songs.”

ROSS DE CHENE HURRICANES
If you plan on coming to Yah Yah’s on Thursday organizers have warned you had better bring a helmet because there will be stones flying and shit exploding all over the place. Be prepared for a groovey garage rock onslaught early in the evening administered by the accurately titled 2 piece Ross de Chene Hurricanes. Fighter jet pilots Fire Fire! will keep the heat on with their SCORCHING vocal lines and THUMPING tunes that will have you smearing your greasy selves all over the dancefloor. But holy shit, it doesn’t stop there … in the second half of the evening The Analyte will pick you up, and put you in a large canon, that will fire you into the deepest darkest parts of the universe. And if you are still alive at this point then Melbourne’s punk heroes JOHNNY UPPERCUT will, as the name suggests, smack you back to earth with a drunken punch better than the great Ali himself. Get your shit together and be there at 8.30pm.
Door charge from 8.30pm, bands start 9.00pm

SCREEN SECT: American Movie (Chris Smith, 1999)
A strangely inspirational documentary, this follows the at-times comedic misadventures of manically driven Milwaukee film-maker Mark Borchardt, as he struggles against bad planning, financial hardship and an amateur cast and crew, to complete his independent horror film ‘Coven’. A must-see.

It’s said that good things come to those who wait, and sadly, that’s going to be the case for Holy Sea fans. Following the unanimous acclaim received for their sterling first singles ‘Bad Luck / King of Palm Island’ , the band are disappointed to have to announce a delay in the release of their album Ghosts of the Horizon, now not due until late September.
It’s a shame, because as Rave Magazine said “The Holy Sea have their own distinct voice, and it’s honestly exciting to know there’s a whole album of it coming”. Inpress agreed, saying “The Holy Sea are an epic band, in all senses of the word…” while Beat declared them to be “the new authentic poets of Australian folk rock.”
