It was the decade when frizzy perms and shoulder pads were hip, long lunches were tax deductible, the Compact Disc appeared in record stores, Cabbage Patch Dolls were born, we lost John Lennon, played Pac-Man and the Wall came down in Germany. A¬¬nd amongst all this, the Australia music scene was at its most exciting and prolific and the music from this era shaped a generation.
Born from the success of the Countdown Spectacular, The Absolutely 80s Show features some of the best Aussie pop icons from the 80s. The Absolutely 80s Show - a musical extravaganza of epic 80s fun and flashbacks - stars Brian Mannix (Uncanny X-Men) and Scott Carne (Kids In The Kitchen), who are joined by Dale Ryder (Boom Crash Opera), David Sterry (Real Life) and Eve von Bibra (Chantoozies) performing all their hits in one, massive show.

THE SONGS OF VAN MORRISON AS PERFORMED BY JOE CREIGHTON
Joe Creighton grew up in Belfast during the late 60s with a backdrop of the civil rights movement, riots, religious and social unrest, all to the soundtrack of early Van Morrison songs with the band Them. These were very exciting times and he can still remember walking down Royal Avenue or Ann St (Belfast’s equivalent to Carnaby St, London) and hearing the anthemnic chorus of ‘Gloria’ booming out of boutiques and coffee shops. As a teen he would go and watch Them perform at local venues and that early influence cemented his love for this style of music that is now reflected in his own song writing and singing style.

Michael Dwyer – Rolling Stone Magazine Australia
“It takes six seconds for Butterfly Boucher to distinguish her third LP as a work of wit and Imagination. “5678!” lurches and stomps with the kind of novelty value that refreshes itself every few bars”.

Now based in Nashville, Adelaide born Butterfly began her musical quest at the age of 10 when her father taught her to receord on a four-track recorder.
