Prince Bandroom Gig Guide

On Saturday (yes, Saturday – exciting!) 6th February KILL THE NOISE is bringing one killer line up to the Prince: MALENTE (GER/Fool’s Gold/Southern Fried USA), ACID JACKS, HARRIS ROBOTIS, GENERIK, DEAN BENSON, FANG RATS, MAT CANT, ANDO and QUINNMASTERS. Presale tickets are now available only through the Prince. We don’t suggest you chance it on the door!

You’ve got to give credit to any guy who’s willing to attempt a Katy Perry cover – especially when the song is “I Kissed A Girl” and that guy happens to be a proud homosexual and from Israel. So hats off to IVRI LIDER (ISR), who will hopefully perform said cover at his show on Sunday 28th February. Don’t let the connection to the pop diva fool you though, Ivri’s music is melodic, powerful and from the heart. Tickets are now on sale.

Direct from Brooklyn New York, the ANTIBALAS AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA are heading to Oz for what will be their first down under. The band encompasses a massive 12 current members, which is why it’s no surprise that these boys sure do know how to raise afrobeat sounds to a spiritual plane. With a sound foundered by Nigerian legend Fela Kuti, the band is influenced by jazz, 70s psychedelic, funk, dub, and traditional drumming from Cuba and West Africa.

Prince Bandroom Gig Guide

We are feeling nostalgic writing our last newsletter for 2009; what an amazing year we have had! Thank you all for making this year our busiest, best and most fun. From all of us here at the Prince Bandroom we wish you a safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in 2010 - if not before at INFECTED MUSHROOM (sold out), LAMB (sold out) and GIRLBAR NYE (tix at the door).

Just announced: metal-gods FEAR FACTORY (USA) who are heading to Oz as part of the Big Day Out 2010. With a revamped line-up including guitarist Dino Cazares, singer Burton C. Bell, bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan, the boys hit the comeback trail last winter with the album Mechanize – their first release in five years. With tickets flying out the door I suggest that you get yours soon! Presale tickets are available here.

If it’s electronica you love then look no further because DJ MARK FARINA (USA) is heading down under. His underground house and downtempo style, mixed with some laid-back jazz beats makes for one hell of a summer Friday night in St.Kilda. Guests include MIKE G, ANYO, JAMES BELIAS and ANT J STEEP. Early bird tickets are currently on offer (for a limited time only of course) - book online here.
