CECIL B. DEMENTED (John Waters, 2000)

SCREEN SECT is a film society night devoted to rarely seen, obsessively loved and criminally neglected cult classics of cinema. Revisit old favourites, uncover hidden celluloid gems, indulge guilty pleasures, or just get yourself an education.

CECIL B. DEMENTED - A later Waters work which is still developing its cult status, stars Melanie Griffiths as an A-list Hollywood actress who is kidnapped and forced to star in a movie by terrorist underground director, Cecil B. Demented (Stephen Dorff). Dorff leads an insane group of up and coming actors including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, and Waters regulars Ricki Lake and Mink Stole are back for an essential watch for all budding filmmakers who fantasised about kidnapping actors and anyone who cares to know what Stephen Dorff is all about.
