CLOCKCLEANER (USA) DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR

CLOCKCLEANER (USA) DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR
After several successful tours of the US, Philadelphia’s most notorious noiserock trio is coming to Australia. Vocalist John Sharkey is often compared to Steve Albini at Big Black’s peak; all grim perspectives are saturated with a sense of sardonic wit, and Clockcleaner sound very similar to the litany of Big Black’s peers.

While they endure these constant references to the dirgey 80’s American post-punk landscape, Clockcleaner have also drawn numerous comparisons to the damaged history of Australian noise-rock groups – from X and Lubricated Goat to the Birthday Party and Scientists – and it’s suitable that Babylon Rules sees release here for an imminent tour of Australian for this engaging and confrontational live band.

“This Philly trio prefers to nuke first and apologize never… it’s sludgy, creeping noise flattens everything in sight.” SPIN MAGAZINE

“Babylon Rules has a bass-heavy lurch akin to the Jesus Lizard and Flipper… with a similar sense of space and terror. Still, they’re not just emulating the sound of these bands– there’s a genuine desire to make listeners uncomfortable here.” PITCHFORK MEDIA

“Music in the great Scratch Acid tradition of not giving a fuck about the listener. It’s a
feedback-heavy, midtempo march from start to finish….” VICE MAGAZINE
