After thrilling over 30,000 people, the fastest growing venue at the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Comedy @ Trades, is poised and ready to take over Trades Hall’s columns, halls, ballrooms, basements, bars and everything in between.
The Comedy @ Trades team is packing more giggles, groans and guffaws than ever, creating the independently produced, creatively programmed venue we know and love. Comedy @ Trades will have audiences kicking up their heels every night of the festival.
Adding toots to the hoots are Ergo B Bag and His All-Action All-Stars, Dog Trumpet, Scott Edgar and the Universe, Richard In Your Mind, The Bedroom Philosopher, and Yana Alana and Tha Paranas. These all-star musicians are packing their road cases for a rockin’ good time at Comedy @ Trades.
Adding to the tumultuous array of twisted cabaret, whimsical storytelling, marvellous music, stand-out stand-up, show-stopping sideshow, chuckles for kiddies, mystifying magic, tantalising theatre and old-style radio variety, Comedy @ Trades is proud to announce these tasty morsels:
Trade Aid returns to put even more good feeling into feel-good with two new Saturday night benefit shows featuring a hand picked selection of Melbourne’s finest. The Laugh-A-Long brought to you by The Wrong Night will keep you in stitches for the MS Society NSW/VIC, and Scott Edgar and Casey Bennetto’s Prince-ly Tribute 23 Positions In A One-Night Stand, for the Asylum Seekers’ Resource Centre.
Free @ Trades offers new afternoon delights including Comic Book Funny graphic animation forums and exhibition, and The Inaugural Tennis Tournament of Skill and Glory where comedians and public alike can pit their Wii tennis talents for the ultimate prize: Glory. The Pinch – Radiolive! 3.0 is once again taking the chortles to the airwaves. And then there’s six nights a week of Midnight Trade shenanigans where anything can and does happen, getting audiences to kick up their heels every night of the festival. This year’s line-up includes Bogan Bingo, Insert Name Here’s Thrillogy Trilogy, Bella Fellas, So You Drink? You Can Dance! , The Hoodangers, Eugene Hamilton and The Money and Flap!
