CROWDED HOUSE AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Crowded House are coming home!
After months of tantalizing us with news of US and UK dates, an appearance on Live Earth, and a sold-out show at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel, Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mark Hart and new recruit Matt Sherrod have announced a major arena headline tour of our shores for October/ November.
Dates are confirmed for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, ensuring that all Crowded House fans are well catered for.
With Crowded House’s much anticipated new single ‘Don’t Stop Now’ on the air waves and their album Time On Earth (EMI) due out June 30 in Australia, fans will have an exciting new selection of songs to enjoy before the band hits the stage late this year. Their tour promises new hits plus the songs that have made Crowded House a much loved household name.
With a career that spanned more than a decade the first time around, there is no shortage of back catalogue for the band to choose from. Songs ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, ‘Something So Strong’, ‘Better Be Home Soon’ and ‘Weather With You’ are just a few of the hits that have become so much more than just 80s and 90s chart-toppers. Arguably Crowded House produced songs that are now fundamental to the cultural landscape of this nation, a fact that is illustrated by the band’s incredibly broad appeal.
Award-winning local band Augie March will support Crowded House on this tour. Augie March have long been favourites of the Australian public. The band had major success with their recent release Moo, You Bloody Choir which yielded the beautiful ‘One Crowded Hour’. The song was a huge hit on commercial radio and took out the Number 1 position on this year’s Triple J Hottest 100. It also won a prestigious APRA award for Song of the Year. With an extensive and impressive back catalogue and a finely tuned live show, Augie March are not to be missed.
Tickets to Crowded House’s ‘Time On Earth’ tour are on sale from Friday 6 July.
