TIM ROGERS & BAND with The Hampdens – SELLING FAST!
Sat 7 Jun 2008
Doors 8.30
Still unable to secure steady employment, Tim Rogers will thrust himself onto the stage to break up recording the new You Am I album, and in an effort to cleanse himself of both catholic guilt and unwanted facial hair. Miraculously coinciding with the release of the single ‘Goodnight Boys’ from the pants dropping LP ‘The Luxury Of Hysteria’, this show will be an opportunity for our protagonist to play, well frankly, whatever the hell he wants, along with, no doubt, juicy tales from his years as the country’s fourth most misrecognised songwriter/performer. Let us join the lad before he loses his mind and soul within that rock ‘n’ roll morass.

Wed 11 Jun 2008
Doors 7.30
Pinky Beecroft & The White Russians, with NZ’s Goldenhorse, are set to embark on a small and exclusive run of dates, pre-empting the release of their debut album in August. Pinky is best known as the former frontperson/songwriter of Machine Gun Fellatio. His band, The White Russians, feature former George founding member Nick Stewart on guitar and is a major departure from MGF territory – it’s as eclectic as one might expect from Pinky, but with a new direction. Goldenhorse cross the Tasman with their stunning new album Reporter, which the five-piece have been busy taking to other parts of the globe. Loaded with the band’s unique blend of alt pop - ethereal vocals and warm atmospheric guitars that arc across a present and steadfast rhythm section - the album is out now.

SPUN RIVALS (Debut EP launch) with The Greasers and The Papernecks
Sat 14 Jun 2008
Doors 8.30
Spun Rivals are two Aussies and one Scot employing angular guitar hooks, pounding toms, distorted bass and weird noises to create sounds that dance around the pigeonholes of Brit inspired-indie, post-punk revival, new wave, prog and pop. Lyrical social commentary inspired by Britpop songsmiths Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker, is backed by driving and chaotic sounds likened to Bloc Party, Klaxons, Franz Ferdinand and even The Mars Volta. With blistering performances, Spun Rivals are gaining a reputation as an exciting, tight and edgy live act. Their self-titled EP is released nationally from June 7.
