Filed under: Festivals & Major Events — site admin @ 2:07 pm

“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” – HH the 14th Dalai Lama
BEMAC is proud to be a supporter of the 9th Festival of Tibet, taking place at Brisbane Powerhouse from the 26th to 30th April 2017. Founded on the principles of compassion and non-violence, the Festival of Tibet 2017 is an all-ages festival which explores these universal themes through concerts, exhibitions, discussion and workshops. All proceeds going to the education fund of Tibetan Children’s Village, India. There will be a rare chance to hear the Honourable Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, Tibet’s Prime Minister In Conversation with Paul Barclay of ABC’s Big Ideas.

In honour of his 80th birthday, Mystical Tibet is a tribute to the music of iconic minimalist composer Philip Glass. The concert will performed by Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra and Tenzin Choegyal.
Celebrate and get inspired with Songs of Freedom. The concert brings together the next generation of Queensland’s musicians, with outstanding artists from the Tibetan diaspora.
Let your senses be overcome in Lotus Born Concert - a multi-genre unique Concert with poetry, music, and traditional Tibetan dance, enhanced with live painting by Tashi Norbu.
Come along to renew mind, body and spirit through free and ticketed all-ages workshops and ideas. All proceeds going to the education fund of Tibetan Children’s Village, India.
