Kristy Apps - Announcing the release of her new single ‘Pour Me Out’ and East-Coast Single Launch Tour

Filed under: pop music, rock music, CD Launches, Tours — site admin @ 3:58 pm

Following on from the success of her latest album ‘Pour Me Out’, Kristy Apps is launching her single of the same name. On release ‘Pour Me Out’ the album was named Album Of The Week by Rave Magazine, and charted consistently in the 4ZzZ top 20 highest played through the months following – including most played during the week of August 8.

Reviews of ‘Pour Me Out’ have been emphatically positive:
“A truly amazing reworking of salt n pepa’s Push It… sung as if Bruce Springsteen wrote it for Patti Smith, it is something to experience.” On this impressive effort Apps’ has found a way to bridge the more intimate and bolder sides of her songs.”

ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Bill Holdsworth – Rave Magazine August 2009

“Kristy pours out her heart and soul to create this excellent acoustic rock album. Power vocals combined with great rock build-ups add to the impact. Nice one.”

Donna Penry – LOTL

“As Molly Meldrum would say: do yourself a favour!”

Evelyn Hartogh – Queensland Pride

“Opener ‘Pour Me Out’, with its driving energy, leads into the bolder rock of ‘Physical’, and it’s immediately clear Apps, with her impassioned, pained vocals, could be the next Melissa Etheridge. The instrumentals perfectly complements the range in Apps’ emotional spectrum, ebbing and flowing consistently and effectively.”

Garrett Bithell – MCV

“Pour Me Out will no doubt elevate this young lady’s career to the next level. Mature, thoughtful, pensive, smart tunes abound on this impressive album.”

FIVE STARS

BabySue – LMNOP

Over the last 10 years Kristy Apps has carved her own niche into both the Brisbane and the wider national singer / songwriter scene. Having performed with everyone from Deborah Conway to Pete Murray, 2009 ARIA nominated Producer Anthony Lycenko to Canada’s Ember Swift, Kristy’s energetic and infectious performances, combined with her powerful songwriting ability have won her numerous accolades.

Moving into 2010 Kristy is proud to release the second single off the album, title track ‘Pour Me Out’, and is touring the east-coast to celebrate the release.
