New York’’s dance punk duo Matt & Kim Tour

Filed under: punk music, contemporary music, Gigs, Tours, General — site admin @ 2:05 pm

New York’’s explosive dance punk duo Matt & Kim will hit the road in support of their full-length Lightning, which is out now through Liberator. Having already been announced on the national GTM Festivals, MATT AND KIM are excited to announce that the party will continue with headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. They’ll travel across Australia through April and May.

Written and produced by Matt and Kim, Lightning was recorded by the Brooklyn duo in their Grand Street apartment and features ten outstanding tracks written in true Matt and Kim fashion.
Drawing from their powerful live shows, while still adhering to their minimal two-person studio approach, Matt and Kim set out to create their most diverse, realized, and at times raw release to date with Lightning.

There’s the summertime beat of “Let’s Go,” the relentless drive of “Now,” the dance anthem “It’s Alright,” and the more contemplative album closer “10 Dollars I Found” featuring vocals by Kim.
Lightning debuted at #1 in iTunes Alternative Chart and follows Matt and Kim’s third full-length Sidewalks, which also hit in USA at #1 on the iTunes Alternative Chart, hit #3 on their Top 200, received huge praise from the likes of SPIN, Entertainment Weekly, and Billboard. They also brought their high-energy live show to Big Day Out audiences in 2011.
It really is rare that you would find more people having fun at a live show than Matt, Kim, and their crowds.
