Barbarion : Metalman Tour

Like a robotic samurai riding a flaming tiger, Barbarin are a metal force to be reckoned with. Formed in 2007 with the sole ambition of ‘making party’, Barbarin have bludgeoned their way through pubs and clubs to become a Melbourne favourite.
Scantily clad in all manner of leather, fur, studs and armour they have blasted festival audiences at Boogie, Cherry Rock, Meredith and the Big Day Out with their powerful metal riffs and mega-explosive stage antics.
Now, with egos supercharged thanks to a highly successful European tour, Barbarin are set to unleash their new album upon Australian audiences around the country.
The METALMAN tour is here. Be there or be dead.

Just Announced! Murphy’s Law (USA)

Metropolis Touring and Tombowler Present MURPHY’S LAW
*** For The First Time in Australia***
“Jimmy Gestapo was the life of the party, and made sure that everyone had a good time. As he pointed out during their set, it was really cool to see Hardcore heads, Punk kids and Metaleros, mixed together in the pit having a blast!” - www.hornsuprocks.com - 2011
New York Hardcore icons, Murphy’s Law, are amped up for their first Australian tour in their 30 year career.
Murphy’s Law were founded in Astoria, Queens, New York City in 1983. Over the past 30 years, they have become cornerstones of the American hardcore legacy. Murphy’s Law ride the line between obnoxious skate-punk, grooving urban rock ‘n roll and molten metal but while most of their contemporaries and followers aimed to be the most brutal, tough or politically conscious band around, Murphy’s Law instead promoted an upbeat party attitude. The band enlisted John “Norwood” Fisher of Fishbone to produce their 1991 album, “The Best of Times”, incorporating funk and ska elements into their sound way before skacore became popular. Murphy’s Law pioneered what has become known as the sound of New York Hardcore back then and now represent what it stands for today.
Through countless line up changes, Murphy’s Law’s lone remaining founder is Jimmy Gestapo, always the life of the party, Gestapo has a reputation for making sure every punter in the crowd has a damn good time! At a recent show in New York, Spin.com reported “During “Panty Raid,” someone brought a bucket of beers onstage, which Murphy’s Law frontman Jimmy Gestapo distributed to the front row, along with shots of Jager.”
Many might recognize Gestapo from Grand Theft Auto IV where he played The DJ of Liberty City Hardcore. The game also featured the Murphy’s Law track “A Day in the Life”.
In 2013, Murphy’s Law’s line up once again includes journeyman guitarist, Todd Youth (ex-Danzig, ex-Agnostic Front, ex-D Generation) and is completed by Raven (Sax), Dug ‘The Mouth’ (Bass), Vincent Alva (drums) and Ian ‘The Welshman’.
2013 will the first chance Australian hardcore heads will get to party on with one of the most revered bands in all of NYHC lore, Murphy’s Law! Let the party begin!

Davey Lane EP Launch

Friday August 16 marks the official release of Davey Lane’s debut single, You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime. Last April the track was previewed in nascent bedroom demo form, garnering rave reviews around the country including Single Of The Week in both Beat and Drum Media magazine. The upcoming digital release features the single in its fully realized glory, recorded at 301 Studios in Sydney last month and produced by Tony Buchen (Tim Finn, Phrase, Washington), and is the first taste of Lane’s debut EP, The Good Borne Of Bad Tymes, out September 6th on his brand new record label, Field Recordings (through MGM).
You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime is an ominous, brooding, psych-rock stomper with crunching hip hop drums and a soaring chorus, highlighting Lane’s knack for melody and masterful guitar work. The 3-track digital release features the new single version and original home demo, as well as an exclusive remix from renowned Australian hip-hop producer M-Phazes (Bliss & Eso, Illy, Drapht, Phrase).
Accompanying the song will be a promo video by up-and-coming director Tim Sneddon, incorporating new and found footage, with its foreboding Cold War-leant theme appropriately fitting for the song.
In support of the single and EP, Lane for the first time will embark on a headline tour through September and October with his band, beginning with Bigsound Live in Brisbane and then taking in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
“Lane has taken on the persona of Syd Barrett, joined Cheap Trick, and the result is brilliant….a spacey pop centrepiece that fits perfectly in with the niche crowd but still keeps Lane’s rock credibility intact. For that, he should be lauded” - Drum Media, Single Of The Week
“a ripper electro-rock track that wastes no time launching into a beautifully wasted chorus, this intoxicating collection of notes that is deeply romantic in a bad-boy arsehole kind of way. A big, big hit, I think.” - Beat Magazine, Single Of The Week
New single You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime out August 15 on Field Recordings/MGM
Davey Lane’s Debut EP The Good Borne Of Bad Tymes out September 6 on Field Recordings/MGM
