PBS 106.7 FM Real Radio Festival

Filed under: Radio, General — site admin @ 9:55 am

TURN ON, TUNE IN & WIN.

Thursday June 30 - Thursday July 14

Launch Date - Thursday 23rd June
with a live broadcast from Transport Bar @ Federation Square 6am - midnite

Live performances from BOB Log III, Chris Wilson + Mick Thomas plus lots of guests

Melbourne’s iconic PBS-FM has been a beacon of independent, freeform, passionate, real and unpretentious radio for 25 years. PBS is a champion of specialist and under-represented music, with a strong emphasis on promoting Australian music, and is proudly non-corporate.

It is our hope that PBS is a joyous, adventurous and educational experience that turns you on to music that’s eternally cool, and provides a real alternative to manufactured notions of what’s “hip” in the increasingly corporate musical mainstream. PBS 106.7FM doesnt play hits… we make hits. Turn on, tune in, open your ears, your mind and your heart to the wonderful wide world of music.

Our annual radio festival is here again, kicking off with a live broadcast from 6am to midnight on Thursday 23rd June @ Transport Bar - Federation Square (details below). The radio festival is designed to promote PBS FM to the people of Melbourne, encouraging them to try some new food for the soul, music for the ears and ideas for the heart. We hope the people of Melbourne will be inspired to join the PBS Family.

The radio festival is also designed to celebrate our listeners, with prizes galore being up for grabs to all our subscribers - new and old. Check out our prize list below - it’s getting bigger and better every year.

As a public broadcaster, PBS doesn’t make money from advertisers, and relies instead on people who are passionate about their music and their community. So come along to the launch, or turn on, tune in (to 106.7FM) and join our community - you’ll be made very welcome.
