THE YOUNG LOVERS

At a time when Melbourne punters seem to have two left feet, Young Lovers are bringing the remedy. It’s not that the punters can’t dance, more that they won’t. Either way, Mornington Peninsula’s very own Young Lovers are having none of it. Formed in 2006, Young Lovers are all under 22, and have already made waves supporting 1990s, British India, Youth Group, Children Collide, Little Birdy, The Cops, Jebediah to name a few. Their self-titled debut EP features the irresistible ‘Talking In French’ pop smash, and three additional gems, bound for dance floor glory.

LAGWAGON (USA)

Lagwagon, Santa Barbara’s pride and joy, are returning to deliver some Californian punk rock respite! Lagwagon are the original Fat band – the first band Fat Mike signed. They may have been belting out the hits since 1988, but maintain a sense of humour about their enviable longevity with the title of their latest offering “I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon”. Lagwagon have never strayed from the infectious blend of pop, hardcore and personal politics that we all found so endearing in the first place, and age has not wearied their punk rock souls. You’d be fricken nuts to pass up this opportunity to see them live!
