James in the last year hosted a series on ABC 2, Dig TV, recorded material for two Children’s books, recorded & released 2 CDs (Every Man A King & Ghost Ships) and a live DVD (One Night In Melbourne). 2009 sees James touring the country to perform music from these new releases.

FRENZAL RHOMB
Saturday 21 March
$20+bf on sale Fri 30 Jan
Doors 8.30 Well, the International Financial Crisis has hit us all hard, but no harder than those of us who’ve been watching our investments in punk rock stocks grow steadily since the mid nineties. Imagine our surprise when our man on the trading floor radioed in to say 56 points had dropped off Frenzal Rhomb Touring And Petroleum Consolidated in less than 45 seconds! And then to hear that the arse had completely dropped out of Nancy Vandal Smallgoods and Smaller Music Inc. faster than the Zimbabwean dollar? We all almost had heart attacks - again! Needless to say the answer was simple. Pick our old, wrinkled and much happier down arses up off the ground and get on the road again! Our lawyers and tour managers were in agreeance. Enough time has passed since our last gigs (a year and a half for Frenzal, 5 for Nancy Vandal), surely the punters have forgotten our shortcomings. So here is Frenzal Rhomb and Nancy Vandal, with audiences as ravenous as our creditors, and wallets as empty as our promise of…A GREAT DOUBLE BARRELED PUNK ROCK SHOW FOR ALL THE FAMILY!

KANE WELCH KAPLIN (USA) - Limited Dinner & Show Bookings
Thursday 5 March
$39+bf (show only) or $64+bf (dinner/show)
Doors 8.00(show only) or 6.30 (dinner/show) Based around the songwriting of Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch, plus the acclaimed multi-instrumental talents of Fats Kaplin, KANE WELCH KAPLIN has now expanded into a four-piece band with the addition of Kieran’s son Lucas Kane on percussion. Kieran and Kevin have written for top-selling US mainstream country artists for years and started swapping songs on stage in the late 1990’s as a very “loose duo”, while still pursuing successful solo careers. In 2004 Fats came on board to record the highly acclaimed ‘You Can’t Save Everybody’ album that launched the new trio format as a touring act - touring Australia in 2005. Their unique Folk-Country-Blues writing combined with their invigorating, live, seat-of-the-pants approach to recording is well demonstrated on their current self-titled album which has received solid ABC Radio airplay across the country and confirmed them as favourites of Australian audiences.
