THE ROSE LINE
NEVER SEE TOMORROW (NSW)
BURIED IN VERONA (NSW)
GIANTS!
Since their inception in 2006, The Rose Line have always maintained that genre or style would never be a limiting factor when it came to their music. With members coming from diverse musical backgrounds, their music embraces shades of metal, punk and hardcore with dynamic screams, rich clean vocals and powerful lyrics. The one constant you can always expect is a desire to create powerful and energetic music delivered through an intense and unrelenting live show. See The Rose Line as they take the Pony stage with Sydneysiders Never See Tomorrow and Buried in Verona, as well as local Hardcore upstarts Giants!
9.00pm
2am late show: ZEAHORSE (SYD) / FREE
Originally hailing from Lismore NSW, the psychedelic capital of Australia, Zeahorse has been blowing away audiences in Sydney since their formation early last year. Drawing musical influences from 80s post hardcore and grunge bands from the 70s and 80s (think Gang of Four, Fugazi and Rapeman), Zeahorse deliver a raucous live show filled with heavy trips of spontaneous energy. Over the past eighteen months Zeahorse has shared the stage with Regular John, The Scare, Dukes of Windsor and Bertie Blackman, performed at the Playground Weekender (2008) and My Filthy Riot (2008, 2009) festivals, and are gearing up to support The Mess Hall this August. But first Zeahorse are set to devastate venues across Melbourne this July, with their honest, loud and aggressive live show. Don’t miss them when they turn Pony inside out with Friday’s late show.
3am: DJ SPIN & TURN / FREE
Saturday 4 July
CAPTAIN CLEANOFF
FUCK I’M DEAD
SPACE BONG (SA)
Things are gonna get brutal at Pony on Satursday, with grindcore legends Captain Cleanoff playing a farewell show before they embark on a five week tour of Europe and the UK. Joining them for the occasion will be pals Fuck I’m Dead who will supply ample fretboard gymnastics and machine-gun drumming and Adelaide’s doom / sludge nightmare-making Space Bong, who have recently released their debut full length album “The Death Of Utopia”. Come down and show why the forces of good can’t keep the evil down for long.
9.30pm
2am late show: NAKED ON THE VAGUE (SYD) / FREE
Naked On The Vague hail from the dirty, damp sewers of Sydney, only clambering out of the darkness to occasionally bring the outside world a taste of their own brand of apocalyptic pop and dark psychedelic weirdness. The Naked On The Vague approach meshes punk, industrial and psychedelic sounds, whilst dishing up a hefty dose of distortion and delay to really hit it home to you. They don’t make it down to Melbourne too often, which is good reason to make sure you’re in attendance, as the already converted will attest that this band is one of our country’s most amazingly unique and astounding live bands.
3am: DJ PINK FITT / FREE
