We are feeling nostalgic writing our last newsletter for 2009; what an amazing year we have had! Thank you all for making this year our busiest, best and most fun. From all of us here at the Prince Bandroom we wish you a safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in 2010 - if not before at INFECTED MUSHROOM (sold out), LAMB (sold out) and GIRLBAR NYE (tix at the door).
Just announced: metal-gods FEAR FACTORY (USA) who are heading to Oz as part of the Big Day Out 2010. With a revamped line-up including guitarist Dino Cazares, singer Burton C. Bell, bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan, the boys hit the comeback trail last winter with the album Mechanize – their first release in five years. With tickets flying out the door I suggest that you get yours soon! Presale tickets are available here.
If it’s electronica you love then look no further because DJ MARK FARINA (USA) is heading down under. His underground house and downtempo style, mixed with some laid-back jazz beats makes for one hell of a summer Friday night in St.Kilda. Guests include MIKE G, ANYO, JAMES BELIAS and ANT J STEEP. Just announced and on sale now are our awesome foursome Byron Bay Bluesfest sideshows. Kicking off with the ever-impressive OZOMATLI (USA), the 6-piece band will be back at the Prince on Friday 26th March. Next in line is the pioneer of English blues music, the incredible JOHN MAYALL (UK) on Thursday 1st April. Then PETER GREEN (UK), the man who made the Rolling Stone’s “top 100 guitarists of all time”, will be gracing our stage with a few very special guests. He might even play a few Fleetwood Mac songs if you’re lucky. And finally, on Tuesday 6th April young guns THE AVETT BROTHERS (USA). Brothers in real life as well as on the stage, their mix of folk, country, blues and rock is something not to be missed.
