9-piece latingroove band with a touch of pop. In early 2005 Sendi was originally formed to perform in the 2005 Pacific School Games closing ceremony. After performing an original set to a 10,000 strong crowd at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on December 3rd, Sendi were given an overwhelming response. Since then Sendi has been flooded with e-mails regarding up and coming gigs. The nine piece band performs original tunes with a strong funky, Latin, Pop vibe. With Eloi + Bossanation. Kelly Rae Trueman is a kind and thoughtful 24-year-old woman from North Ringwood, Victoria who was arrested on March 26, 2006 for carrying 5.68 kg of hashish. Kelly is currently detained at Mumbai’s Byculla District Prison, and was recently sentenced to 10 years in jail. The conditions of the prison are poor and typical of Mumbai and support is needed for the Trueman family as they endeavour to deal with the ongoing costs required to support Kelly throughout her ordeal. This benefit concert will see some wonderful acts come together, including Toni d. Mellow, Lions Light, Charles Baby, Richard Ross, The boats and The Counterfeit Gypsies. All funds raised go the aide of Kelly and her family and for the benefit of the women in Mumbai Prison. Tix $10 donation. 5pm onwards.

Legendary early 90’s Australian pop-punk rockers NURSERY CRIMES are reforming for an exclusive show. Slim Jim Phantom from seminal RockabillyPsychobilly band The Stray Cats is known for his unique stand up drumming style, his simplicity has become renowned in the rockabilly scene. The Stray Cats were seen as avatars of retro style. When they split for a while in the mid-1980’s, Phantom and Rocker joined together with guitarist Earl Slick to form the eponymous group Phantom, Rocker, & Slick. The group recorded two albums, the first of which included the hit Men Without Shame. Huge night of Rockabilly mayhem!
