Search for Brisbane’s Prawn Star: Triple M puts the call out for Australia Day showdown
On January 26, they’ll come from far and wide to enter Australia’s toughest challenge. Folks are peeling off everywhere; Heads are rolling, legs are flying and tails are getting squeezed….in what order? Well that’s their secret.
When it comes to peeling prawns, everyone has their own technique and some are bloody fast at it. Each day next week, Triple M’s The Cage with Ian Skippen, Marto, Sully and Emily Jade, could be selecting you as a finalist to peel it out at South Bank from 1pm on Australia Day to win the title of The Cage’s Prawn Star and score yourself $5,000 cash!
“Prawn peeling requires far more skills than meets the eye. For starters, beginners can find out about hidden abilities that can give them a sense of achievement. Prawn’s are a-peeling in more ways than one, pun intended,”said Marto.
Contestants will have to peel as many prawns as they can in two minutes under the watchful eye of Triple M’s Crustacean Controllers. Come down and meet the crew from 10am as they broadcast live from South Bank, with the peel-off kicking off at 1pm.
If you have what it takes, register your details online at www.triplem.com.au and upload your Prawn-File outlining your prawn peeling credentials. Maybe you work on a trawler boat, lived on an island or always seem to get the job of peeling the prawns at Christmas, whatever your arsenal, it could just be the winning recipe.
The Cage every weekday morning from 5.30am to 9am on Triple M 104.5.
