Spanish folk Songs - Macquarie University Singers
This Saturday 4th November, the Macquarie University Singers present South American composer Ariel Ramirez’s MISA CRIOLLA and Navidad Nuestra
The concert will be co-directed by the Singers’ Musical Director Margot McLaughlin and one of Australia’s leading Latin American musicians, Chilean-born Hernan Flores. The concert will start with the audience being treated to a smorgasbord of traditional Latin American music introduced by Hernan Flores and sung and played by Dosyplus. The Macquarie University Singers and its smaller chamber group will then perform a selection of 16th Century Spanish songs about love and Christmas.
Macquarie University Singers is a choir of over 100 voices drawn from students, staff and members of the community, and will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2007.
