The Bedroom Philosopher ~ Sydney, Melbourne, Comedy?
The Bedroom Philosopher (nee Justin Heazlewood) is a self-deprecating, witty maverick who is about to unleash his retro-folk super musical powers on lucky punters in Sydney and Melbourne this March and April.
Leaving no stone unturned, he is preparing to don his comedic hat for a string of shows in Sydney, as well as taking part in a guest speaker presentation at the Gallery of NSW as part of the Archibald Prize 2009, where he’ll use his wit and well-honed eye for art to share his thoughts on this year’s contenders. Shows are Tuesday 10th March in Darlinghurst, Wednesday 11th March at the Gallery of NSW and Thursday 12th March in Glebe.
This Yahtzee loving, ginger beer drinking, geek-Adonis is also set to launch his much anticipated second album, Brown & Orange at the Corner Hotel on Thursday 19th March supported by mega stars Tripod and ramshackle good things the Suitcase Royale.
Plus, this April sees The Bedroom Philosopher make a triumphant return to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival circuit, after a four-year hiatus, with the debut of his brand new show Songs From The 86 Tram. Here, he’ll be inviting those brave enough to join him, on an untamed route to meet the slightly outrageous and beautiful creatures on Melbourne’s most thrilling roller coaster, the 86 tram.
Between his craft drenched art-folk and his profoundly ridiculous storytelling, The Bedroom Philosopher crosses the genre divide of inventive guitarist and fiercely clever comedian, swinging between the music and comedy worlds on a wave of charisma and finely executed disarray like no other performer knows how.
