Caribou has toured Australia three times before; as a solo act in 2001 and as a three piece in 2003 & 2005. This time, however, Caribou, aka Dan Snaith, will be touring as a four piece, allowing him/them the luxury of fleshing out the full band sounds as heard on his latest (and greatest) album ‘Andorra’, live. Recorded almost entirely by himself, ‘Andorra’ features some 670 tracks all pieced together in Caribou’s basement studio. The end result is an electro-psychedelic masterpiece that draws on influences as disparate as The Zombies and Four-Tet, and sounds both real and conjured, yet organic and natural. Fans of Caribou are in for an extra treat too, with announcement of a half price early bird ticket being made available for anyone purchasing a ticket to see Caribou’s sometime touring buddies, Low.
