TRADE AID RETURNS!

Filed under: Fundraising, Comedy, General — site admin @ 5:26 pm

After the roaring success of the first Trade Aid show of 2009 – The Anarchist Guild Social Committee AGM, the good times and good vibes continue with too more spectacular shows:

So You Drink? You Can Dance! is back and this time they’re doing it for a good cause! Miss Anna and Mister Nick want to see your moves and we’re offering glamorous prizes for the best and of course the worst. Backed by a live band featuring Casey Bennetto (Evening – A Cabaret), Enio Pozzebon (Kiosk), Eden Ottignon (Kiosk) and Alon Ilsar (The Colors), you too can cut-the-rug with the best of them at So You Drink? You Can Dance! this Saturday 11th of April. Dress up, get a cocktail into you and hit the floor!

Amongst the special guests on the night will be Oliver Clark, Andrew McClelland, Felicity Redman-Wills, The Birdman, Aurora Kurth and The Boy With Tape On His Face.

Not to mention extra special guest judges Bonnie Lythgoe, Jason Colman and Matt Lee!**

Proceeds go to Autism Victoria

Round out the good works, on Saturday 18th April the ASRC Benefit returns. Last year our star-studded line-up tackled Prince. Now Major Tom’s getting a workout in Life on Mars? So who is included in Casey Bennetto and Scott Edgar’s line up this year?

Among those covering Bowie’s greatest hits we have Heath McIvor, Steven Gates, Clare Bowditch, Geraldine Quinn, Jordie Lane, Tasha Coates (The Audreys), Tim Minchin, The Bedroom Philosopher, Wes Snelling and many, many more! Who will tackle Starman? Will there be a fight over who gets to do Rebel Rebel? And will anyone dare to cover the songs from The Labyrinth, let alone try to wear those pants!?

You’ll have to be there to find out!

Tickets selling fast!

Proceeds go to Asylum Seekers’ Resource Centre

“What a night it was!” Australian Stage

“So You Drink? You Can Dance! delivered on its promise …” The Age
