Sunday 1st October 2017
Caravan Music Club Oakleigh
Marking the 50th anniversary of the death of folk legend, Woody Guthrie, BRUCE HEARN from the iconic band Strange Tenants, has assembled some of Melbourne’s finest folk/roots musicians to form The Machinists, comprising KAVISHA MAZZELLA, CHRIS PASCOE and ALLARA PATTISON, to perform an evening of Woody’s political/social justice songs. They will be joined by special guests MICK THOMAS & KERRIE SIMPSON as well as the 20 piece Victorian Trade Union Choir.
‘Woody: Songs of Freedom’ will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the music and politics of struggle for a better world free from war, racism and inequality.
