This will be a one-off performance and promises to be a big one for the boys, who have been living interstate from each other ever since. Supported by everyone’s favourite new surf group Beware! Black Hole and Chev Rise, this is going to be a big night!

In their first Melbourne show in four months, and the first anywhere in 2012, Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue are throwing a big party at Yah Yahs on Saturday 28th of January and want you all to come. They will be bringing their trademark blend of jangly guitars, driving rhythm and a whole lotta attitude, as well as showcasing a bagful of new material and a few old favourites. Joining them will be Crystal Thomas & Thee Wylde Oscars, two diverse yet exceptional mainstays in Melbourne music.
Through unhinged guitar lines and intense brooding vocals, Crystal Thomas and Benjamin Bunting are set to perform a few warm-up gigs before the release of ‘A Chance In Hell’ - Crystal’s sophomore album, due out in March 2012, through iconic Melbourne label Off The Hip. The album; written, recorded, and co-produced with Spencer P Jones and Matt Walker, captures Crystal’s ‘Australian-gothic’, confessional lyrics over a dark disco pulse and rock n roll swagger, raw against the lush production of the previous offering – 2008 Stovepipe records release: ‘Crystal Thomas & the Flowers of Evil’.
This show will mark the return of the magnificent Thee Wylde Oscars. This will be the band’s first Melbourne show in some time, having returned from a successful European tour mid-2011, and will be showcasing their infectious take on 60’s garage rock. This is going to be a big one folks, so make sure to get down early as two of Melbourne’s best looking bands go head to head. Or back to back. Or cheek to cheek. See you there.
